Who's super-cute, kind of mischievous and funny, too? No, not just about every preschooler you ever met. (Okay, them too!)
But I mean Shaun the Sheep!
There are always new movies for kids coming out. Why go see this one? I can only tell you why we'll be going to see it.
- Cuteness factor - 10. The claymation characters with their unique textures are adorable. I can totally see myself getting wrapped up in the movie (and I don't usually like movies, much less children's ones!) They're also silly (which will be a big hit with my daughter...and my husband) and I love the anthropomorphic relations in the film.
- The sheep need to work together and with their new friends to solve the problem of getting out of the city and back home to the farm. Teamwork is always a good lesson!
- Aimed at kids aged 4-10, it's great for parents will children of multiple ages (older kids may like it, too, but don't expect them to admit it!)
- Basically, a family date where we can all laugh together is the main reason we'll be seeing this one.
Kay and I were inspired to create our own Shaun the Sheep crafts after watching the trailers (and then watching them again, per her request!). Since we always have too much bubble wrap, I got that out and some white paint. While Kay painted the bubble wrap with a sponge brush, I used craft foam to cut out a sheep head. When the paint was dry, we glue the foam onto the bubble wrap and added some googly eyes. Voila - adorable sheep, quick and easy!
We also had some fun drawing on rocks with Sharpies to make our own little sheep!
