Bowling with a pumpkin...who knew? As in, who knew it could be so much fun! I can honestly say I never imagined myself to be playing a sport with a pumpkin in place of a ball. But we did it!
Kay went to pick out her pumpkin with Daddy and came back with an additional 3 small-ish pumpkins in a bag with face stickers, sold as a kit. After decorating them (she'd put scary faces on them and then face them against the wall because she was afraid of them!) I thought they'd be the perfect size for rolling. Add some paper cups that were hanging around and viola - instant fun!
I showed her how to build the cups into a simple pyramid. Then we took turns standing on the other side of the room and rolling the pumpkin to try to knock down the pyramid.
Additional obstacles came in the form of 2 curious dogs. The pyramids got increasingly more complex as she became more confident in stacking them.
We played until this mama got tired (which doesn't take much, by the way!) and Kay continued the game herself.
