There's something about wood slices I just love. The rustic look, the gorgeous wood grains, the feeling of bring nature indoors? I don't know, but this season I think almost everyone I know is getting a homemade wood slice ornament from me (shhh...don't tell!).
These particular ones were super-easy. With a Cricut machine at my disposal and a quiet house, I was able to design them (which is my way of saying "pick out cute fonts and images") and put them together pretty quickly.
I have a thing for fonts. There, I said it. I like searching through them to find just the right one for a project. This project required thicker letters because the ornaments were small and my Cricut doesn't do small, thin letters too well.
As for the images, Janelle was the easiest - she's a huge Minnie Mouse fan! And Cameron got a puppy this year so it just fits to add a puppy silhouette to his. Lucas loves all things cars, planes and trucks, so he wasn't too difficult either. Lacey is just a baby, with no distinct preferences beyond feeding time so far, so she got glittery stars.
