Pumpkin decorating with a fun fine motor twist!
  Okay, so here's the truth: decorating pumpkins in any way helps fine motor skills. Whether you paint them, or add stickers, or glue on some gems, it's all making those finger muscles stronger. But here are 10 ways that are especially helpful - not to mention fun...and safe for toddlers and preschoolers, too!
Pumpkin decorating googly eyes markers mummies
Let them loose with a Sharpie! {Mama Smiles}

Add some googly eyes {Craftulate}

Make some Mummies {Hands on: as we grow}

Fine motor skills pumpkins gems stickers toddlers preschoolers
Foam stickers (or any stickers really!) {School Time Snippets}

Stick thumbtacks in the pumpkin (only for those old enough to actually put the thumbtacks in the pumpkin!) {Simple Fun for Kids}

Some gems give the pumpkin an elegant look {Domestic Goddesque}

Glitter pumpkins painting toddlers preschoolers
Good old-fashioned painting {Glued to My Crafts}

Glue and glitter - need I say more?  {Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails}

Decorative tape (kids love tape!) {The Celebration Shoppe}

Make a Mr. (or Mrs.) Potato Head (they sell parts just for pumpkins, too - we got ours at the dollar store!) {B-Inspired Mama}

These are great ideas as an alternative to carving pumpkins (truth be told, I kind of get tired of carving pumpkins every year...because it is always me who has to do all the work!). Thanks for sharing!
