This is a not-at-all-scary ghost craft that preschoolers can do almost entirely on their own (they love stuff like that!) and it's great for fine motor skill practice too!
When I heard that a group of bloggers was celebrating Halloween with a book and craft hop, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Anything with books, count me in! We read Clifford's Halloween, a story I remember reading when I was a kid (quite a while ago, apparently; Kay recently asked if I was older than God!).
So after we read about how Clifford dressed up as a ghost, we made our own ghosts. I used craft foam to cut out a ghost shape, but kids who are able to could easily cut out this shape on their own. Then Kay squeezed on the glue and added cotton balls, pulling them apart before sticking them to the glue. Truth be told, pulling apart the cotton balls was easily her favorite part.
Finally, googly eyes. We do love our googly eyes.
He reminds me of Santa Claus somehow. Ah, well. That's the beauty of preschool crafts - they almost never come out like you expect them to! I dub thee...Harry the Hairy Ghost!
