Alphabet Soup

3/5/2015

It was one of those stuck-in-the-house, must-find-something-to-do days when I brought out the "ingredients" for Alphabet Soup.

We used her foam alphabet puzzle (from the dollar store) and I gave her a real pot and ladle to scoop and stir. I also added another small tub of water for her to transfer the letters too. Keeping with the foam theme, I brought out some scraps of craft foam sheets I had left over from something and let her cut it up to put in her "soup". Add a plastic Easter egg and small bowls and she was set.

She really got in to the pretend soup-making. "And some peppers...and some onions..." she'd mutter as she snipped away at the foam sheets.

After we pretend-ate it, I showed her how she could stack the letters too. But no, she was more interested in...climbing in the pot? Yes, I'm afraid so.

At any rate, it certainly kept her entertained for awhile! (Happy dance!)
