Whimsical - adj. 1. unusual in a playful or quaint way 2. subject to unpredictable change
I've always loved the word "whimsical" and when I was searching for a new blog name, it kept coming to mind. When I looked up the official definition (because I just like to look up words!) I knew it captured us perfectly: playful, not taking ourselves too seriously, and a little different every day.
Welcome to Our Whimsical Days, formerly P is for Preschooler. I'm a New Englander and mother to a 6 year old daughter and one spoiled chihuahua.
I'm not an expert. I'm just a mom, putting some ideas out there in the hopes of helping other parents spend a little extra time having fun with their child, and maybe sneaking in some learning too. My challenge now, with a child in school, is to keep her love of learning alive in an environment that almost seems to discourage unbridled curiosity and exploration. Let's show the kids in our life that learning doesn't just happen with worksheets!
I don't claim to have any great or novel ideas, but I offer what I have here, in any case, in the hopes that something will spark your interest and be enjoyable for your family.
